Bio3 España is a Spanish company dedicated to the research, development and manufacture of natural products made from medicinal plants, vitamins and minerals for health care.

With this purpose in mind, our pharmaceutical laboratory was born in Ponferrada (León) more than 50 years ago.

As an independent family business, we are proud of our values and know-how. The bio3 brand is a sign of that we never compromise our quality, and it is also a recognition of the support and trust that our customers have placed in us since 1966.

Our brand is unique because it integrates the knowledge of plants, the innovations of our team of pharmacists, biologists and nutritionists, and the commitment of our family that products of bio3 continue to be the reference in medicinal plants throughout the world.

Our efforts have been aimed at offering natural products for health care, with maximum efficiency and with quality standards subject to the strictest European regulations. 

+ History

El Bierzo has always been a place where cultures mix. Founded in the nearby city of León by the Romans as a camp for one of their legions, the gold mines of Las Médulas and the Ruta de la Plata give the city of Ponferrada the great medical knowledge of Greek and Roman culture. 

In the Middle Ages, a time of epic and religion, the Camino de Santiago takes shape, which crosses all of Christian Europe and which makes Ponferrada one of its main stops.

In the year 1178, the Templars, great connoisseurs of science and medicine, settled in Ponferrada and built a fortress to protect and heal the pilgrims. 

Thousands of pilgrims have crossed El Bierzo, walking the Camino for centuries, with great faith and knowledge of medicinal plants.

All that knowledge and that tradition in the use of Medicinal Plants have served as the germ of our company.

In 1998, bio3 was born, within the Biodes group (now bio3 España), with the mission of developing a new line of products for Self-Care of Health.

+ Milestones

During all these years, by implementing our business culture, and thanks to the trust placed in us by our customers, we have become one of the leading brands in medicinal plants and food supplements in Spain.

Most important milestones: 

- be pioneers in certifying our crops and products as organic

- be the first to incorporate the tea bag without metal staple

- guarantee all the beneficial principles of natural plants, investing in the best technical advances in packaging

- innovate by launching the first line of soluble plant and fruit extracts with health benefits, bio3 Solution Line, which is presented in "single-dose sticks" that are totally new on the market

- we launched one of the first premium collagens on the market with its own formula and Peptan, the world's leading active ingredient in collagen

- we researched to launch the first product on the market with Megaflora 9 premium probiotics and enriched with fennel

- we launched the first 100% natural and completely sugar-free balsamic syrup, with a measuring cap, and that can be taken by children over one year of age

- In 2019 we launched two new innovative products aimed at acquiring healthy habits, to achieve healthy weight naturally and effectively. They are ObesiBloc and ObesiControl. First products of their category launched on the market focused on achieving healthy habits

- in 2020 we launched the new ImmunoControl, a unique food supplement on the market for its complete formula to take care of the health of our immune system

Bio3 brings together our organically grown infusions and teas that keep their natural essence intact.

+ Laboratory

All our products are developed and packaged in Spain.

Our manufacturing plant and our pharmaceutical laboratory are in Ponferrada, as at the beginning of our times. Our facilities are subject to Official Control in compliance with European regulations applying HACCP systems and GBPF guidelines (Prerequisites, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points -HACCP- and good manufacturing practice -GMP- rules).

Our commercial and international area offices are located in Madrid.
